STEM is an acronym that stands for the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. But how can science be connected to preschool age? Is it too early for children to become familiar with such concepts? The answer is no — it is never too early for science!

When you look around, the ways natural phenomena and elements function are everywhere around us. For example, how does a telephone work and how can a voice travel from one part of the world to another? How can we run water from a tap on the 10th floor? Why is the sky blue? There are countless questions, and children already intuitively ask why things work the way they do.

For this reason, our kindergarten has organized a short STEM program designed for children aged 4 until school entry. The STEM approach encourages interdisciplinary learning, stimulates children’s curiosity, exploration, and logical thinking, develops visual perception, logical-mathematical skills, spatial awareness, cognitive development, imagination, and creativity — and above all, it is fun.

In this program, in addition to daily hands-on activities, we also use LEGO STEM and LEGO Education materials. Our educators are specially trained to implement the mTiny educational set — small robots that children learn to program and operate.
